Small Business Saturday: Featuring Blue Yonder Soaps

by Elena Wilkins on November 23, 2012

Recently I did a Blue Yonder soaps review and giveaway. I told you how much I enjoyed the products… well, I found out that they will be running a Special on Saturday (tomorrow), right after you all knock yourself out shopping during the Black Friday (some of you are probably already standing in lines now ;) ).

Small Business Saturday is the day between Black Friday and Cyber Monday for people to support small businesses. Karen, at Blue Yonder Soaps, decided to celebrate it by having a huge sale– 30% Off everything(!) including Gift Certificates. The sale will be only 24 hours, from midnight November 23rd to midnight November 24th only.

There will be giveaways, and other clearance items. The giveaways include a $25.00 gift certificate, Dead Sea Salts, & Soaps. Some of the clearance items will be: table cloths, baskets and craft items.

So, if you waited to check out Blue Yonder Soaps, now is the time.  I get nothing for mentioning this, except that I know some of you would love a good deal ;) .  Have a great weekend and enjoy your family!

Pacifica–Chemical Free Perfume {New Finds}

by Elena Wilkins on June 17, 2011

A few weeks ago I did a series on Natural Household and Personal Care Items:

  1. Natural Skin, Hair, and Oral Care Products {Why It Matters},
  2. Chemical Free Laundry Options {Living Healthy}
  3. SmartKlean Laundry Ball Review {Chemical Free Laundry}
  4. Homemade Glass and Surface Cleaner Recipe
  5. Benefits of Dry Brushing Your Skin
  6. Organic Raw Chemical Free Skin Care {Natural Personal Care}

In the last post I mentioned that I was using essential oil blend as my perfume.  One of my dear friends, the one that turned me onto Green Smoothies just over 3 years ago, Darlene, had e-mailed me to let me know about another option.  The same day, after looking up the product online, I got into my car and drove to the nearest Whole Foods to check it out.  The rest, as it is often said, is history.  I found a great, natural option to chemical perfumes–meet PACIFICA and my new favorite perfume–Waikiki.

After sniffing every scent Pacifica has to offer, I settled on the one that comes closest to who I am.  Waikiki is a fresh, airy smell that compliments a person, rather than overpowering and encroaching the “air space” ;) of others. Thanks to Darlene [once again :) ], I am now a happier natural, good smelling vegan [not that I wasn't before ;) ].  And, although the bottle of this awesome smelling scent comes at $22 for 1 oz, I can tell you that it is worth it to the very last drop.  So, if you are looking for a natural alternative to your currently chemically laden perfumes, give Pacifica a chance.  The perfume also comes in as a solid, and with a roll on options.

DISCLOSURE: I am NOT paid, neither have I been asked by anyone, to do a review/recommendation of this product.  The opinion is honest and my own.

Today I would like to continue and complete this week’s conversation on Natural Personal and Household Care Products.

You can find the first few installments here:

  1. Natural Skin, Hair, and Oral Care Products {Why It Matters}, and
  2. Chemical Free Laundry Options {Living Healthy}
  3. SmartKlean Laundry Ball Review {Chemical Free Laundry}
  4. Homemade Glass and Surface Cleaner Recipe
  5. Benefits of Dry Brushing Your Skin

One of the most important things you can do for your skin is to nourish it.  By now you know that the most important nourishment comes from your diet.  Second most important thing for your skin is how you take care of it from the outside.  From yesterday’s topic on Dry Brushing you know that you should free your skin of dead cells on a daily basis.  But what do you do after that?  Moisturize it, of course!

Just like your body needs good quality water, your skin needs good quality moisturizers.  The skin, when it is ignored, can become dry and parched.  A good, organic, chemical free moisturizer is a must for females and males alike.  Watch this video to see what organic, raw body creams/lotions I personally use and recommend to others.

To get your own Vegalicious All-Over Body Cream [you can use it on your face, hands, and the entire body], head on over to the Vegalicious Store.

Other personal care products that I use are:

Deodorants: look for those that are aluminum and chemical free, with as few ingredients as possible.

Perfume: I use natural essential oils that smell wonderfully.  At the present moment I am enjoying Persian Garden by Kuumba Made

I hope you enjoyed the topic of Natural Personal and Household Care Products.  More great information is to come in the next few days, but we will be changing the course  a bit :) .
