I am giddy! So giddy! Like a kid! And I honestly wonder if I even should be feeling this way
.
Ok, I will calm down long enough to tell you why… after all, it is just 6 AM and I have been up for the last two hours
.
In the last year the readership of Vegalicious Blog has expanded beyond my wildest imagination. Although I did not seek it out, because I was doing what I am passionate about–working on changing lives of as many as I can to avoid physical, mental and emotional suffering which happen as a result of poor dietary and lifestyle choices, but it happened and I am happy about it. With each reader, each subscriber, I feel like I am one step closer to fulfilling my everlasting thirst to tell the world that everyone can live in optimal health and well-being.
As a blogger, as you can imagine, I love when my readers interact with me–it is the best reward to know that what you are doing, what you are writing about is making a difference in someone’s life. I get especially excited when someone takes action, based on my personal example, research and posts, and their lives changes for the better. For example, yesterday, a young lady I am coaching posted something absolutely amazing in one of Vegalicious on-line groups:
“I was telling my husband how much this lifestyle change has impacted my quality of life. I’ve been following the Boot Camp menu for about 5 days now. On top of that, I have increased my B12 intake, and I’ve been off gluten for about a week and a half. The greatest change I’ve noticed is my energy levels! I haven’t felt this way in….well, I can’t even remember… I could go on and on, but I’ll leave it there. ~V”
Fantastic, isn’t it?! Yes, the best high anyone can ever experience is to know that what you are doing is making a difference in someone else’s life. However, once you experience this kind of high, you do not want to stop. And why would you? What if, instead of helping 40+ people transition to a plant based diet in just 3 months I could help thousands? However, have I not been hearing from the people who make changes like V~, I would not have known whether I am making any difference at all. See, V~, instead of being just a reader, a Vegalicious follower, has become an active follower–she is not quietly reaping the benefits of our hard work, but instead, she is sharing it with others, and there is much to be said about that. So, it is people like her who give me inspiration. And, in fact, that is how all of my great ideas are born–inspired by readers–active readers–like V~ and others.
V Club
I always look for ways to connect with all of my readers. You leave a comment–I respond; you post on Facebook wall–I write back; you write me a personal e-mail about your pains and struggles–I cry with you, if you are hurting, and I write back; you tell me about a wonderful change in your life–I laugh with you and… write you back. No one’s person troubles or happiness are too little to go unheard, unnoticed or uncelebrated.
For the longest time I called my readers… readers, or Vegalicious readers. But then I thought that it was too generic for wonderful Vegalicious audience, and it was time to make it more special. I kicked around a few ideas, with some inspiration from…. my Facebook readers, and my new brainchild was born… actually several of them.
As of today anyone following Vegalicious Blog (that means you have subscribed via e-mail or RSS feed, and read Vegalicious posts) is called a V (I have been using this emblem as site’s favicon for a long time now
):
