7 Day Reset Plan (Day 1) Food Intake

Doing and feeling great, except when all three of us went for a walk today; by the time we got home I felt famished :). The body is unloading itself, I feel it already!

Here is my food intake for the day (green smoothie recipes will be provided below).

  • Breakfast: 16 oz. Pear & Spinach green smomothie
  • Snacks: leftover from yesterday meal (Mac N Cheese with Kale Salad), green smoothie from lunch (16 oz.)
  • Lunch: 32 oz. of Green Goodness Smoothie
  • Dinner: Barley with Peanuts sauce and a ton of raw veggies (carrots, onions, celery, cucumber)–no salt used!

Total green smoothie intake for the day–64+ oz.! I am back, you all and it feels awesome!

Last might Hubby made us a kale salad out of two bunches of kale (that’a a lot!) and we ate it all :) .

So, here are two green smoothie recipes I promised  from today. Green Goodness turned out so delightful, I could not stop drinking it.

Green Goodness Green Smoothie Recipe

green-smoothie

yields 70 oz.

Ingredients

  • 4 cups water
  • 1 large ripe mango, with skin (take out the pit :) )
  • 2 Fuji apples
  • 4 chard leaves (medium size)
  • 3 collard greens leaves (I take stems out)
  • If you need additional sweetness, add dates of a tad of honey.

Blended in VitaMix 5200 until smooth. Store in glass containers to avoid leeching chemicals into your food.

Pear & Spinach Green Smoothie

pear and spinach green smoothie

yields 65 oz.

Ingredients

  • 4 cups water
  • 3 tbsp flax seeds
  • 2 ripe bananas
  • 2 ripe pears (I take out seeds)
  • 3 LARGE handfuls of spinach

Blended in VitaMix 5200 until smooth. Store in glass containers to avoid leeching chemicals into your food.

Both smoothies are very simple, but very tasty. I especially enjoyed the Green Goodness smoothie, due to its light tartness.

Staying Prepared

I am about to head into the kitchen and preblend my smoothies for tomorrow. I am also planning to make Raw Corn Bisque:

If you are taking part in the Green Smoothie feasting, I hope your day has been a good one too!

    Hi Elena,
Can’t tell you how much I love your blog. You really are an inspiration to me. I’ve always been eating vegetarian and healthy, but now I’m eating waaay healthier thanks to you. Keep up the amazing work! :) (I’ve been using Collard greens, spinach and swiss chard in my smoothies. After reading your post about Kale, I’m going to start using that as well.)
    Cheers,
    Devi.

Aww…, thank you, Devi! I love that you are moving forward! There is so much goodness out there that by the time you even attempt to try it all, you will no longer miss the foods that make us sick!

      • Devi

Absolutely agree with you! The smoothies are so satisfying as a meal or a snack, there’s no need to reach for junk food. I’ve got my sisters started on it and working on my mom now ;-) . I’m going to try your Ravioli recipe soon! :)
