Homemade Glass and Surface Cleaner Recipe {Non-Toxic Household Products}

by Vegalicious Elena on May 30, 2011

Hello, loves!

Today I want to tell you how to make your very own homemade glass and surface cleaners–non-toxic, totally chemical free, and safe even for the little ones.

Watch the video first and then make your own surface cleaner.

Homemade Glass and Surface Cleaner Recipe

  • 1 cup rubbing alcohol
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 tbsp vinegar
  • 5-10 drops essential oil

There is a possibility that this solution might be a little tough on marble and stone, so you can try even a simpler version:

Simple Glass and Surface Cleaner Recipe

  • 1 cup water
  • 1 cup white vinegar

That simple!

You can also use BAKING SODA on tough surface stains :) .  What can be more simple than that?

Hey miss Elena, we also use Dr. Bronner’s tea tree castile soap (straight or added to another formula like yours) for counters, sinks, tubs, and toilets, especially during the cold & flu season. And I am not a vinegar fan so I use lemon juice in it’s place.

Of course adding an acid (vinegar/ lemon juice) to a base (baking soda), causes some bubbling. Do take care not to get it your eyes.

I’ll put your window cleaner recipe to good use this summer!

    Blessings.

Great suggestions, Darlene. I had not thought about adding soap.
