This Week’s Giveaway: Celebrating Plant Based Living [CLOSED]

by Vegalicious Elena on January 10, 2012

In the last week’s giveaway I told you that hubby and I are celebrating 5 years of plant based (vegan) living, 5 years of health, and 5 years of happiness.  To keep up with our celebration, this week I will kick off with another giveaway–this time one of my own creations, while I am hard at work on putting the finishing touches on the 30-day DYI Boot Camp Bundle.

[Psst... by the way, January Boot Campers reported a loss of 65 lbs for this last week--that is 10 people, and 65 lbs! Don't you want this to happen to you?! ;) ]

Fruity Delights–The Giveaway

This recently released e-book contains 15+ delicious vegan fruit smoothie recipes and comes with a bonus–1 raw, gluten free dessert recipe, and 1 totally new, never before published–Upside Down Vegan Apple Cake Recipe–just in time for the holidays :) .

As much as I love green smoothies, there are times when I want nothing but delicious tasting fruit blends.  The Fruity Delights are always a hit with kids, adults and non-vegan guests.  It is one of the best ways to introduce health into the lives of your loved ones.

One of my lucky readers will get to take this one home this week!

I bought the first e-book and have been doing the Green Smoothie Challenge since Saturday. I am a single mother of a beautiful and amazing 5 year old, and a few years back her father had a stroke due to poor health. My family has a history of diabetes and heart issues, and I want to be sure my daughter has me around for a long time, and that she learns about healthy eating at a young age.  I would add this into my daily routine alongside the Green smoothies.

I am a daily subscriber and also on the Challenge board on FB.

When I first started doing green smoothies a few months back, my kids were unwillingly drinking 1 pint/day for a few weeks. Then when the colder weather arrived, they completely lost interest and are now turned off by the greens, saying how “yucky” it is.  I really want to reintroduce the idea to them with fruits only which may help spark their interest again.  It’ll be very exciting for the kids to make your recipes themselves as they would be more likely to drink it!  I’d much rather they drink their fruits & veggies than take a multivitamin everyday.  Please help put my 2 munchkins back on the healthy track!!!

As the direct result of reading your site, I not only subscribed, but also ditched the microwave. I felt a little guilty giving it away, but the man was so happy…even when we told him we were getting rid of it for health reasons.

I just recently found your site and I have been enjoying it. We have been on a continuous journey of healthier eating and living (not that we were far off before, but there was definite room for improvement). We LOVE smoothies and about 5 years ago bought a Vita Mix (mostly for our daughter because she loved making smoothies and loved creating her own smoothies and dreamed of owning her own smoothie place someday). We use our Vita Mix daily to make yummy, healthy smoothies and other things (sorbet, natural ice cream, etc..) I’m always looking for new and better smoothie recipes and ways to incorporate both fruits and veggies into them.

There are a handful of reasons why I should win your wonderful publication:

    1) I will use it – it will become dog-eared (at least figuratively since it will be used on the iPad).
    2) My taste-level tolerance is so high that I’ve lost sight of what will be tasty for the kids, My “if it’s organic and it grows, toss it in” approach isn’t working for them.
    3) I was recently diagnosed with Hypothyroidism and want to ditch the bio-identicals
    4) I smile an exponentially higher number of times the healthier I eat (and drink)
    5) I eliminate alcohol from my diet 7 months ago, and I’m sure I can adopt one of your recipes as my go-to drink for relaxing
    6) I am an enthusiastic word-of-mouth person who will (I already have) talk up your site and share my joy with each delicious recipe we drink
    7) You know you want to give it to me, right? 8) Ok, well how about a veggie joke then? What type of vegetable should you not take on a boat?
    9) You knew that one.
    10) It’s January 10th.  My lucky day!

Hello, I NEED to win this book. A friend of mine directed me to your site as I have recently experienced a major health crisis. I had a Medication induced Liver injury now I have gone off the medication which was for my Fibromyalgia and my pain is debilitating, I have been looking for an answer and when the student is ready the teacher will appear, viola! my friend sent me you.

Welcome! You have a kind friend. I wish I had one like that when I was going through my health crisis.  The good news is that it is all (and this is my opinion ;) ) reversible. I used to have SOOO many health issues and told I could never reverse them, but boo-ya! 5 years later I live in perfect health!

      Welcome to our community!

I don’t have a fabulous story, but would like to win this anyway! :)   I’m on the slow and steady approach, and have lost 28 pounds since last summer.  The next step on my health journey is to add fruit smoothies, and the next is to add green smoothies.  A little help would be nice…
