Oldies but Goodies {Vegan Recipes}

by Elena Wilkins on August 26, 2011

Hubby and I have guests coming over tonight, so I am planning a menu.  I already know what I want to serve for the appetizer, drinks, second course and dessert, but was still wreaking my head over what to serve for the third course.  Believe it or not, but I do go back to Vegalicious to pull up my old recipes, along with referring to my printed recipe book.  As I was looking through both, I found a few jewels that I have not made in a long time, which all of you would appreciate too.  You should try making some of these this weekend:

Oh, and there is so much more.  I am getting hungry just looking at it.

And I just remembered that delicious homemade bagels I haven’t baked in a long time… YUM!

If you are wondering what other delicious delights I have planned for tonight, I will let you in on the secret.

Vegalicious “IMPRESS YOUR NON-VEGAN GUESTS” Menu

  1. Drinks: homemade mint lemonade and fruit smoothies, herbal teas [rose and peach] for dessert
  2. Appetizer: Green Salad with Cilantro & Mint and fresh raspberry dressing
  3. Soup: Green Split Pea soup, served with homemade wheat bread
  4. Main Course: still contemplating on it, but you see that my options are many :) [what do you think I should pick?]
  5. Dessert: the new, delicious, scrumptious Vegan Chocolate Cake {YUM!}

Our guests are very non-vegan, so I am hoping that the cooked dishes will have their taste buds satisfied, especially the dessert, although I have a feeling that the fruit smoothies might be a hit too.  For now I am off to the store to get my grocery shopping done.  I was hoping to lay out in the sun for an hour, but it is still hiding behind clouds [so much for a sunny weather report], so the next best thing is cooking!  :)

What are all of you planning to make this weekend to impress yourself and loved ones?
