Strawberry Banana Sorbet Recipe

Any dessert lovers out there?

Desserts are infamous for serving up extra carbs, sugars, and fat.  So many feel guilty indulging in their favorite treats, sometimes rightfully so.   But who said that dessert has to make you feel guilty?  Who said that you can’t have dessert without damaging your waistline?  Not me!

Whoever came with the silly saying: “You can’t have cake and eat it too”?   Why else would I have cake?!  I think that surely if you have “cake” you must eat it!

So, today I will present you with a very simple dessert that will allow you to enjoy it and not worry about your waistline.   I am actually munching on it while typing up this post.  Mmmmm…. Mmmmm… GOOD!

Strawberry Banana Sorbet

Ingredients

  • 1 ripe banana, peeled
  • 8 large frozen strawberries
  • 1/4 cup dark vegan chocolate chips
  • 1-2 tbsp brown rice syrup

Preparation

  • In a food processor chop banana
  • While food processor is running, add strawberries and blend until smooth; beware not to overblend
  • Add chocolate chips and pulse to break some up
  • Using ice cream scoop transfer sorbet into a bowl
  • Using a spoon, pour brown rice syrup on top, forming thin strings

That’s it!  Simple, delectable and perfect for Mother’s day dessert.
