Vegalicious Giveaway #7–HUGE Discount for August Boot Camp!

by Elena Wilkins on July 2, 2012

Hard to believe that the month of June is over.  It is even harder to believe that my tiny tot is already 7 weeks old. Last week she weighed in at 9 lbs 12 oz (from birth weight of 6 lbs 5 oz) and has grown by 1.5 inches.  These days she is all smiles and even gooes for us now and then ;) .

We are finally figuring out a schedule that works for all of us, so life is getting better in the Vegalicious household ;) .

June Boot Camp Testimonial

June boot camp participants were great. They did their part and their results are the proof of their achievements.  While I am still waiting on all final results to be reported, one has already made its way to me, and I am ecstatic to share it with you.

”I have been at the same weight for 6 yrs. and definitely knew I wasn’t doing something right. I wanted to be healthy and reach an ideal weight for health reasons. When I started the Boot Camp my ultimate goal was not to give up after a few days, and eat healthy no matter what.

Elena is an excellent teacher. Her materials are so easy to follow and her recipes are amazing. The boot camp support group on Facebook is the best—you relate with so many people going through the same things as you—it’s like a family. Elena always writes back to any queries even with her busy schedule (she’s a new mom).

Personal contact with Elena was more than helpful. It was the greatest motivation to have her believe in us and make us believe in us. I’m telling you it’s like a personal fitness and nutrition trainer. You can even vent on other things, that’s how wonderful the Facebook group is, so if you are having a bad day it gets better not worse, thanks to her and all the new friends.

By the end of 30 days I have achieved my goals. My weight has never moved… until now. In one month I have lost 10 lbs, and 55″ overall. I also don’t feel tired that easily anymore. I used to have knee pain which has kind of disappeared, and I am eating less now. Lots of extra flesh on my face is gone and also from my waist.”

Sharanya (June 2012 Boot Camp)

Six year of waiting and hoping, and only 30 days to achieve her desire.  Isn’t that awesome?!

August Boot Camp and Giveaway

Since my life has taken a wonderful turn with Sprout’s arrival, I had less time to blog (you will now mostly find me on Facebook, talking to Vegalicious readers, sharing our lives, mostly while I am nursing and actually have a few minutes :) ), so I have not done a giveaway recently. As I told you before, giveaways will depend on what I am feeling the day I want to do one… so, today I want more of you to take one step closer to better health and do a Boot Camp with me. However, I value your and my time all too much to just give away the entire registration (I learned long ago that most giveaways go unused :( or neglected). So, here is what I will do…

The Vegalicious Boot Camp registration fee (and you can read more about the program HERE) is $115. I want to provide a $50 credit for one person (yes, that means that you will have to pay the remaining $65 to get into the program) to do August Boot Camp with me and others (there are already some who registered).

Interested?  I know I would be! If you are not yet convinced that Vegalicious program works, just visit the Boot Camp page and read all of those wonderful testimonials.

WHAT

$50 credit toward August Boot Camp registration for one person.

WHEN

The giveaway will be open between today (7/2) and Saturday (7/7) 11:59 pm EST.

RESTRICTIONS

One entry per person. The winner, should s/he accept the giveaway will not have the advantage of the Boot Camp cancellation policy once the manuals are sent out.

HOW

All you have to do to enter is tell me WHY you should get the giveaway and how you think Vegalicious Boot Camp will help you achieve your goals. That’s it! On Sunday I will pick the winner.

When leaving a comment, make sure to enter your email address into the FORM (not the comment itself), so that you are notified. The winner will have 24 hrs to claim the prize, otherwise the giveaway will be passed on to someone else.

That’s it! Now let me hear your stories.

Hi Elena!  I am too, a first time mother and was at my peak before pregnancy.  I worked out 5 times per week and was energetic and full of life.  Having my son in February was the most important facet of my adult life, I am now complete… But with 50 extra pounds to lose.  I carried my precious child for 41 weeks, and had to deliver via emergency c-section after 12 hours of labor and two and a half hours of pushing.  I’m nursing and truly love the benefits of doing such, but at times, I forget to take care of myself as well.  My husband and I are both trying to turn over a new leaf (no pun intended), and start living a lifestyle full of better choices in our daily eating habits.  We want to set the example early for our son that healthy eating IS a lifestyle NOT an option.  We want him to understand that by making healthy choices early on in his life is just as important as the clothing he wears.  We’ve decided that we don’t want to present him with a house full of processed, chemically enhanced foods, and we want him as well as ourselves to know how to manage eating better, even while traveling!  I certainly hope that you consider me for winning this boot camp coupon for August!  I won’t let you down!  :)

Hi Elena! I would love to win this giveaway! I have been considering doing to Bootcamp for awhile now. I have been a vegetarian since I was a kid, but I have not always been the healthy kind :) I would really like to kick my sugar addiction for good, and make a lasting switch to veganism (I have dabbled in it, and enjoyed it, and don’t really even like eggs or much dairy, but I go back and forth). The last 5 years of my life have been full of health challenges due to issues with blood clots in my arm and lungs. I am so blessed though, because one year ago, doctors finally determined that I had Thorasic Outlet Syndrome, and I had major surgery to remove my top rib which was pressing into the vein in my arm, stopping blood flow and causing blood clots. I am so grateful there was a solution! The other option was life-long blood thinners, and they weren’t giving me too much hope that I could carry a pregnancy. I was envisioning a very different life than I am now seeing. The surgery was a great success and I went through physical therapy to regain the use of my arm, after 5 years of under-use, and now I am getting my body ready to get pregnant for the first time. That is the real reason I want to do the Boot Camp–I want my body in tip-top shape for pregnancy, and I want to start habits now that I can have while pregnant. Also, I have never been an exerciser–I live in a big city with lots of hills and I walk everywhere, but I have never followed a plan, for either diet or exercise. I am excited for this opportunity! :)

Hi Elena, I’m relatively new to your website, but have learned so much already! I love your enthusiasm and I am so encouraged by your and your husband’s successful stories. My journey started when I learned about Dr. Gerson’s therapy to cure cancer and that peaked my interest in nutrition; I’m a Type 1.5 diabetic and never dreamed that changing my way of eating could help me so tremendously with diabetes. But I’ve read many successful stories and have implemented many changes so far that have had positive results. I just think I need to learn a little more and hopefully your boot camp program is the answer for me! Either way if I win the discount or not, I’m seriously considering joining in to give me the needed information and motivation to make these positive changes work for my goal of healing from diabetes. Even though I have already drastically reduced my intake of insulin, I would like to learn more and be more effective at doing this in a proper way. I look forward to this challenge! Thank you for all your help and motivation with your informative posts as well.

I so would love a one-on-one opportunity. Someone to be accountable to. Someone who actually ”cares” how “I am doing”. I have put myself on the back burner helping everyone else but me. HI Elena! I’ve wanted to do the boot camp for 2 months now and always I’ve had to use the money for emergency repairs.  I’ve already made good strides in following the advice and recipes on here, but I want more!  I’ve beem feeling like a whole new person, but I have room to improve. That and I want to prove to my husband it’s never too late to turn your life around!  He’s starting to try some of the smoothies, but not as many as I’d like.  You and I have discussed my thyroid issues and all that has entailed.  Which are much better!  My MD was proud of the progress!

  • Hilda Quintanilla

I have been diagnosed with pre-diabetes, low thyroid, need to lose 200 pounds, and I’ve tried everything possible to regain my health. I dont want to be another statistic. Please help me!!! I am 39 and have not been able to bear a child. The medical field says its over for me, but I declare myself victorious according to my faith. Please help me. My husband is a teacher, I am a homemaker and as you can imagine – our funds are low. Blessings upon you and your household.

i have had food allergies/intolerances/sensitivities for years combined with about 10 years of itching all over my body and GI issues. I have tried all sorts of diets medications and avenues. Recently doctors have told me a plant based diet would be best.  I don’t know how to even start on my own and would love some natural help and think diet is the way to do it.  My husband and I are also in the process of trying to get pregnant and I would like to be as healthy as I can be before, during and post pregnancy. I am so happy I have discovered your blog.

I have been interested in a vegan lifestyle change for sometime and this bootcamp would allow me to jumpstart my new lifestyle change. This giveaway is  a great opportunity for that to happen.

  • Kmtruby

I have a lot of food allergies that makes transitioning to full vegan intimidating. I’d love to be part of a team, working with you, to make it happen. I think a vegan lifestyle will help me conceive!

  • Laura Bennett

    Hi Elena :)
I have been wanting to sign up for your bootcamp for months now. I even messaged you months ago on FB trying to figure out a payment plan, but it still was too expensive for me to be able to pay. I have just graduated from college and I have a lot of student debt so I am trying to stay on a strict budget so I am not in debt for the rest of my life. I was a vegetarian all throughout high school, but I had a terrible diet which led to health issues and always being fatigued. My parents convinced me it was because I didn’t have any meat in my diet so unfortunately I started eating meat again. I only ate meat for about 1-2 years after that and then my junior year of college I decided to become a vegetarian again. (I have now been one for the past 3-4 years.) I became a vegetarian more so for the ethical reasons and not the health reasons. I agree with one of your blogs that vegetarians are kind of hypocrites because all of the animal cruelty that goes with egg farms/dairy farms. I now have been trying to become vegan for the past few months (for both ethical and health reasons now), but I have been having a difficult time with it. I have been inspired by your story and have been motivated to change my lifestyle (not only for the 30 days of the boot camp), but I need help with it. I have noticed that my metabolism has been starting to slow down and I have been gaining some weight. There are medical issues that run in my family that I am trying to prevent getting (diabetes, psoriasis, heart disease, hypothyroidism). I also have skin allergies and my doctor told me just to take Zyrtec for the rest of my life. If I take a pill a day, I will never be itchy or have any rashes. There is obviously just something odd to me when a doctor just tells you to take a pill a day. From all your blogs, you have made me believe that a healthy diet and lifestyle will cure and prevent health issues in the future. I don’t want to wait for those to happen to me, I want to prevent them before it happens. If I had more money, I would sign up for your boot camp right away, but right now in my life I just don’t have the finances to be able to. (I also have an addiction to sweets and coffee and would love to be able to take those out of my diet!) I really think that I should get the discounted boot camp because I will be committed to make it a lifestyle and not just the 30 days. I just need somebody’s help to get started and your program seems to be exactly that! :)

  • Csvee

I don’t have near the fantastic reasons as others on here! I just want to be healthier! :) and what better way to do it then help from the guru!!!

In 2003 I found that I had elevated prolactin levels.  I was 23 years old.  It was determined that I had a prolactinoma.  In 2006 I got MRI’s which confirmed I had two prolactin secreting tumors in my pituitary gland.  Left to the advice of my doctor I went on Cabergoline to suppress the release/production of prolactin.  I was on this medication for 2 years.  My hair became brittle and thin and if I remained on this medication I faced becoming sterile.  Lovely how they don’t tell you the side effects they just push the medication.  I didn’t want to be on the medication any further after I learned this but once I came off the prolactin levels increased and I decided to have the tumors removed along with the fear that if I lost my job I couldnt afford the medication to continue suppressing my condition as it would be $800 a month for 8 pills.  Looking back I lived in fear of miseducation on my condition as well as what I learned from my doctors and the internet.  Never did I think to a healthy alternative, I always saw that as weird and unconventional.  So in January 2008 I had minor “brain” surgery to remove the tumor, we found that the medication had successfully reduced one of the tumors.  Man was that an experience that I never want to go through in my life again however it was successful.  A interesting side note is that pituitary glands are normally compromised with this type of removal and you run the risk of having to be on synthetic hormones for the rest of your life.  My surgeon said that my tumor was mushy and not attached to any of the structural surfaces of my pituitary and the gland was not compromised, God is amazing in that he protected me from further damage.  I was placed on thyroid medication for 6 months after because I was borderline hypo-thyroid and once that treatment was done I have been getting my prolactin and thyroid levels checked every six months for the first year and once a year after that.  I also got a few MRIs afterwards to make sure the tumors didn’t come back because I was told that it was “possible” the tumors would come back.
In December my sister told me about your blog, I slowly started reading it and found that you have successfully tackled similiar conditions to what I had gone through and it opened my eyes.  Still a little weary of all the new knowledge and the weirdness that I felt towards it I continued to follow your blog.  Slowly from conversations with my sister I started to implement green smoothies(which I LOVE), more vegetables and have been slowly removing meat and dairy from my diet.  I went to a health fair and had a finger stick test to see what my cholesterol was and it came back at 212.  I became a little more dedicated to adding green smoothies and veggies to my diet after learning this.    I totally see the health benefits of changing the way I eat.  Last month I had some blood work done to see where I stand with my cholesterol and D3 and B12 because I was turned onto the book Preventing and Reversing Heart disease and wanted to see what my #s looked like and what they would look like in 3 months if I really stuck to the findings of Dr. Esselstyn.  To my surprise my cholesterol was 179 and I attribute that to changing the way I eat.  It was neat to see that it was no longer 212 as well.  Another surprise I had was that in the 4 years my prolactin levels were excellent normal they are now elevated, not as high as they were before but higher than the high normal.  It made me feel terrible and brought back some of the emotions I experienced from my struggles with it and the surgery.  I also have elevated potassium levels and I dont want to go through the motions of just doing what doctors tell me to take or surgical options or anything.  I want to do what I can to take care of the body that God has given me.  I am concerned seeing an endocrinologist again because I am not confident that they will offer me alternative ways to prevent the elevated prolactin.  I am serious about changing the way I live my life, yes it is hard and I am learning where my weaknesses are and where I need to improve and educate myself.  I have been interested in doing the boot camp but find that spending the amount of $$ is a little tough when I was still learning if I was going to take this seriously, after getting my blood results I am very motivated and I thought this giveaway was a great chance to have that fee reduced to really have this be a jump start to eating healthy for life and share the background to why this is important to me.  I never want to go through what I did before or continue to treat my body poorly when I have the power, with God, to change things.  Thank you for considering my story and post.
