Creamy Kale Green Smoothie Recipe {Cleanse Day 2}

How are you, loves?

I am feeling fantastic.  I finished off day 1 of our 3-Day Green Smoothie Cleanse and woke up 1.5 lbs lighter this morning. Although 99% of the time it is not about weight-loss for me, but about feeling great, I did need a couple of pounds to come off. Due to my workout schedule I felt that my body was under a bit of stress, so, instead of just getting stronger and leaner, I also found myself add a couple of pounds, and they were not muscle. 😉

They also happen to collect in my stomach area, covering my abs a little 🙁 — and that is not what I had in mind. So now, to help my body recover, my goal, besides doing the cleanse, is to take it easy while teaching my fitness classes. I am one of those crazy instructors that gets involved ALL the way and does EVERYTHING my students do. For the next week, however, save yoga, I will be laying off weights and sticking to light cardio.

This morning I was out of greens, so, having crunched on an apple, I headed off to Whole Foods and loaded up on greens and fruit: kale, chard, bok choy, bananas and grapes. I also found a few things for the day after the cleanse, which I am planning to do 90% raw. I will be making zucchini noodles, and a raw pie [YUM!].

Creamy Kale Green Smoothie Recipe

Makes ~ 50 oz


  1. 2 cups water
  2. 2 bananas
  3. 1 cup fresh/frozen blueberries
  4. 2 tbsp hemp seeds
  5. 2 tbsp dulse flakes
  6. 1 bunch of kale, remove thicker part of the stem
  7. 2 cups fresh/frozen strawberries
  8. 2 tbsp raw honey, if needed for sweetness

Blend ingredients 1-6 until smooth, then add ingredients 7-8 and blend. Enjoy!
